The plates are numbered in the top right-hand corner.
Sheet size: each approx. 20 x 13 cm.
Copperplate engravings on ribbed paper (vergé paper). On the reverse is an oval ownership stamp measuring approximately 2.3 × 2 cm in the form of a coat of arms featuring an eagle (?).
From: “Abbildungen von allen Uniformen der Königl. Preuß. Armee unter der Regierung Sr. Majestaet Friedrich Wilhelm III. von August Leopold Ramm”, Berlin, J. F. Unger [c. 1800].
The edition was published with a coloured title page and 142 coloured copperplate engravings of uniforms, some with gold and silver highlights.

These original 18th-century engravings from the Les expressions des passions de l’âme, conceived by Charles Le Brun. Edited in Paris by Jean Audran, engraver to the King at his Academy; at the Hôtel Royal des Gobelins. With the King’s privilege. 1727
Copperplate engravings, printed in reddish-brown (sanguine) ink.
Sheet size: approx. 38.5 × 26 cm.
Charles Le Brun (1619 – 1690) was a French painter, physiognomist, art theorist, and a director of several art schools of his time. He served as a court painter to Louis XIV, who declared him „the greatest French artist of all time“. Le Brun was a dominant figure in 17th-century French art and was influenced by Nicolas Poussin.

At the lower part of the image, on a stone tablet, the Latin inscription:
“Hanc Hyacinthi Rigaud Perpinianensis pictoriæ Regii effigiem”
This is an original early 18th-century engraved portrait depicting Hyacinthe (Hyacinthus) Rigaud (1659–1743), the celebrated French Baroque portrait painter.
