Bees4Seas Natural Beeswax Food Wrap

Bees4Seas Natural Beeswax Food Wrap Hey Eco-Warrior! Thanks for stopping by. We're here to help you on your zero-waste journey! We understand! How do you use beeswax wraps? Air dry. Reuse! Happy Seas!

As an Eco-Warrior we know you're looking for sustainable ways to reduce your plastic usage. Plastics are choking our waterways and strangling our marine animals. In addition, plastics cause health issues for our families too. At Bees4Seas, we are all about finding solutions to reduce the plastic impact on our earth. We're committed to reducing plastic waste, with sustainable plastic free products

that won't harm the earth or your family. As a mother of two, I am concerned about the environment and the way my children interact with the environment. I started Bees4Seas for people who want to see less plastic going into our oceans and for people who don’t want toxic chemicals leaching into their food. Our natural beeswax wraps are reusable, biodegradable, and sustainable! They are made in the US and the ingredients are all sourced from the US as well. We start with organic cotton grown in Georgia as the base material. Next, we source organic Jojoba Oil from a family farm in Arizona and tree resin from Kentucky. We add coconut oil, which provides micro-bacterial properties, to keep food fresh. Finally, we add wax from US beekeepers dedicated to the sustainability and health of the bee population. Our natural beeswax wraps are a malleable cover that seals food and locks in freshness. Just wrap your food item and use the warmth of your hand to “seal” the wrap to itself or a bowl. To clean, simply hand wash the wraps with an eco-friendly dish soap. Your wraps will last several months and can even be rejuvenated with additional beeswax. When your finished with the wrap, throw it in your compost pile and return to the earth. Simple changes, big impact! Thanks for working with us toward a sustainable future. Together, we can create a better tomorrow! Melissa

Waste free apples 😋

They're in season! This is one of the best months to eat them 🍎🍏

Kids love them because they taste good. Parents love them because they are

~ High in fiber and vitamin C
~ May be good for bone health
~ May help lower blood sugar and protect against diabetes
~ Contains bioactive compounds that may help promote healthful gut bacteria

We love them because they compost well, and their seeds can turn into trees which improve the earth for us all!

What's a favorite way that you enjoy apples?

How do you know if you're a lazy composter? 🤷‍♀️ If you have seedlings growing in your compost area, then you might be like me, you simply toss waste into the area and wait for it to rot, and therefore might be considered a lazy composter!
Some serious compost folks dislike seedlings in their compost area, because it's an indication that temperatures aren't the idea 130-170 degrees. And you probably don't turn the pile enough. But personally, I love the organic sprouts and figure If I can't get my compost to 130 degrees in AZ, when outside temps are 110 on average, then I might as well nurture the little seedlings and grow a garden of surprises!
So far we have several tomatoes, cucs, swiss chard, and sunflowers growing happily. I simply cleared the waste debris and partitioned the seedlings off from the food waste pile, and sit back and watch my new garden grow!
How about you? Do you like sprouts in your compost or does it annoy you? What's growing in your compost?

Back to school is a perfect time to talk about zero waste lunches. Plastic baggies end up in the ocean and they don't decompose for 100's of years!! This impacts Sea turtles, who mistake the plastic baggies for their favorite food, jelly fish. 😱
What's the alternative? Natural Beeswax Wraps are reusable, biodegradable, sustainable! 🐝🐳🐢
Handcrafted in the USA, with organic ingredients, you can wrap lunches and snacks without plastic toxins and keep our oceans beautiful.

Kids love it too!

Plastic Free Snack Highlight: Fresh Fruit 😋
🍎🍐🍊🍌🍉🍇

Just make sure to avoid the plastic produce bags when you pick them up at the store!

I recommend bringing a reusable grocery bag and putting your goodies right inside for check out!

The vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants in fruits strengthen children’s immune systems and ensure healthy growth and development! Plus, most kids love them!

Blueberries and rasberries are one of the best fruit options, since they are lower in sugar, high in fiber, and loaded with antioxidants.

Sprinkle over salads or blend into smoothies. Use berries in muffins or whip up a berry compote for pancakes to replace sugary syrup. Preparation options are pretty endless when it comes berries! 😉

Fruit leftovers compost easily. Just toss them into your compost pile and turn the soil once a week!

What are your kids' favorite fruits? We love berries on the go!

Going low waste with a family is a challenge!  Add the complexity of global pandemic waste, and it might feel like it’s impossible to achieve.  Kids create a ton of trash, from snack waste, to plastic toys.  It’s shocking how much waste a typical family can create!

We have the power to make a huge difference starting in our homes. Strive for progress not perfection and get creative.

So how do you teach kids about their environmental impact?

1.       Spend time in nature and teach kids to appreciate the environment.  Take nature walks and schedule trips to sanctuaries. Children who grow up to love nature will practice sustainable habits as adults.

2.      Read books and watch movies with environmentalism themes.  Read The Lorax, What A Waste, and The Wondrous Workings of Planet Earth.  Watch documentaries and movies such as "Plastic Ocean" and "Mission Blue."

3.      Involve children in making and packing zero waste snacks and lunches. Focus on whole foods and avoid snack packaging. Keep packaged food out of the house! Use and .

4. Teach sustainable ideas through mini science experiments. For example, demonstrate how various materials decompose at different rates. Try decomposing plastic materials in the compost pile and let children draw their own conclusions about plastic waste.

5. Practice what you preach. Model ways to take care of the earth, everyday. Pick up liter, plant a garden, conserve water. Kids are always watching and will pick up on our habits, good or bad.😮 Instilling zero-waste habits in our children is a process, but it's worth it!

How do you instill good habits with your children? Share your awesome ideas!

Today's small but mighty harvest.🥬🥦🥕🍅

We have an heat wave arriving this week. Temps in Zone 9 will reach 118 this week! Protect your plants with extra shade if possible. Grab those beach umbrellas and a garden shade cloths and cover your plants. Upcycle those old bed sheets into garden covers.
Move container plants into the shade if possible or even indoors.
Container plants may need water twice a day. Check the soil with your finger. Water your garden and shrubs in the early morning.
Cover soil with a 2 inch layer of much to protect from water evaporation.
Harvest tomatoes so plants can focus energy on survival.
