A cosy corner where culture and calm come together 🤎

A small poem for my Wonder Women. I call them:

Weavers of Hope

In the heart of the village where the rivers flow,
Where the tall grasses whisper, where wildflowers grow,
A circle of women with hands strong yet light,
Weave baskets of dreams from morning till night.

With fingers that dance like the wind on the plain,
They twist and they turn, through labor and strain.
Not just for coin, not just for bread,
But for futures unbroken, for children well-fed.

Each woven strand, a story untold,
Of wisdom passed down, of courage so bold.
A mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend,
Braiding their love with a hand that won’t bend.

For when a woman earns, the village will rise,
Food on the table, hope in young eyes.
School fees are paid, the elders are fed,
A cycle of kindness where no one is left.

Fair hands, fair trade, a promise we keep,
To honor their craft, to value it deep.
Not charity given, but justice made right,
So baskets may shine like stars in the night.

Through patterns of culture, through fiber and thread,
They weave not just baskets but futures ahead.
And long may they weave, through struggle and song,
The pillars of strength, resilient and strong.
