It all started when I had a little too much time on my hands ...
.. In search of something creative to do, I stumbled upon this one book that introduced me to the art of amigurumi crochet. And what do you know - I was instantly hooked! I wanted to learn everything there was to learn about forming these cute little animals with just a little bit of yarn and a crochet hook. So I dove right in and

crocheted every day for several months, making all kinds of wild animals and cute little items. That's when my friends and family started asking "Oh, could you make me ....". By that time I already had a good understanding on how to develop certain shapes and forms, so I decided to give it a try and make my first very own amigurumi: Ferdinand Frog! Now, after more than 3 years of crocheting, I still find myself learning new tricks and techniques all the time. And I have so much fun making all my ideas come to live - one cute little amigurumi at a time!

Alles begann damit, dass ich einmal zu viel Zeit hatte ....
.. Ich war auf der Suche nach einer kreativen Beschäftigung, als ich zufällig über dieses Buch mit gehäkelten Amigurumi-Tieren stolperte. Und was soll ich sagen - ich war sofort begeistert! Ich wollte alles lernen, was es zu lernen gab über die Kunst, aus ein wenig Wolle und einer Häkelnadel all diese süßen kleinen Figuren zu zaubern. Ich häkelte jeden Tag (für mehrere Monate) und probierte verschiedene Formen und Techniken, wobei allerlei wilde Tiere wie Löwen, Giraffen, Eisbären und Pinguine entstanden. Von Freunden und Familie wurde ich immer wieder gefragt "Oh, kannst du mir nicht auch ein ..... machen?"
Da ich zu dieser Zeit bereits verstanden hatte, wie man verschiedene Formen häkelt, beschloss ich, mich an meinem eigenen kleinen Amigurumi zu versuchen: Frosch Ferdinand war geboren! Nun, nach über 3 Jahren, probiere ich immer noch gern neue Techniken und kleine Kniffe aus und versuche, mich immer wieder weiterzuentwickeln. Und es macht so viel Spaß, all meine Ideen zum Leben zu erwecken - eine niedliche Figur nach der anderen!
