✨ Happy New Year, dear friends! ✨
From me personally and from my Acoustic Spaces Studio Design Team.
2026 is starting with many promising projects for us — and I’m truly grateful for that.
Still, the big excitement hasn’t fully kicked in yet.
Too many wonderful people didn’t make it into the new year.
And they will be deeply missed. 🖤
One loss in particular has shaken me to the core — our friend, sound genius, audio encyclopedia, and walking recording lexicon: Albert Gabriel.
He left this world far too early, and my heart is heavy with sadness.
The podcast I’m linking here was created during the Insynq event in Hamburg last October.
While Albert wandered through the studio hallways, exchanging ideas and connecting with people, we were capturing moments, conversations, and inspiration.
I had picked him up, along with his family and a van full of equipment, in my RV.
Three intense days of networking, sharing knowledge, and pure audio-nerd energy.
On Wednesday night, I just wanted to pack up and drive home — I had to handle the long ride alone and be back at work early the next morning.
“Otherwise, I’ll never get anything done…”
So when Albert suggested going out for dinner together, I shut it down immediately.
And today?
That moment makes me sad and angry at myself at the same time.
It was my last chance to sit down with him, enjoy a calm meal, laugh, and geek out about audio gear one more time.
Damn. Just… damn.
What I really want to say is this:
Career success is great. But time together is priceless.
You can always rebuild success — with effort, overtime, stress, dedication.
But moments with the people we love don’t come back.
Those chances can’t be rescheduled, replicated, or replaced.
In the past months, something stood out to me:
Albert always said “Tschüssing” when he left.
Maybe he always did — but suddenly, I really heard it.
It was uniquely his.
I’ve decided to carry a piece of him forward — and keep that little word alive.
So today, I’ll say it to you, Albert-style:
Tschüssing.
And hopefully, see you all very soon.
For meaningful conversations, audio-nerd moments, and real time together. 🤍
Take care of yourselves.
And take time — for your people.
Have a gentle, meaningful, and connected start to 2026. 🫶
