Here is what I learned from my mom: wool doesn’t Like to be washed so you should rather refreshen your wool jumpers after wearing (once or twice before washing) or - if it’s winter time and the weather gods have sent some nice powdery snow, bring them out, shovel some snow on them, let sit for a while, brush off the snow and let dry. The wool fabric will be cleaner, and even fluffier than before. You can also throw out your shearling, feather beds (these just need to be hung outside to kill mites) and of course all your flat wool rugs.
For pile rugs you want to additionally beat out the dirt - watch my previous video on snow cleaning.
All items shouldn’t become wet, especially some colorful rugs might not be washable and you don’t want to risk color bleeding.
But winter season is not only time for skiing and sn*******ng, it’s the perfect free rug cleaning time.
