Charming Farmhouse from 1725

This 1725 farmhouse was carefully renovated in 2011 with a local architect and turned into a modern continuum of spaces. Our aim was to bring its contrasts of space and material into harmony, creating relaxed living spaces that complement the architecture rather than compete with it.

Our color and material concept responds to the dominant wood. The furnishings echo the shell’s materiality, adding smooth, subtly glossy, and gently patterned surfaces: linen textures, natural leather, open-pored lacquered woods.

For Munich Highlights, we are hosting Galerie KodlContemporary from Prague, with Cassina setting the scene, and presenting A Drop of Mirage, an installation by Czech artist Lukáš Novák.
Conceived by Galerie KodlContemporary, the presentation gathers works from Novák’s renowned series of crystals and drops in optical and cast glass.
As Cassina stands for Italian design between great classics and new thinking - our new selection from the collection speaks to both: We love how the young artist’s work meets two female design icons, past and present: Patricia Urquiola’s Moncloud sofa and Charlotte Perriand’s Doron Hotel armchair.

The installation remains on view until October 27. We kindly invite you to explore these very special works in glass.

In dialogue with our new Cassina collection, we are giving Galerie KodlContemporary from Prague a stage to present A Drop of Mirage, a glass installation by Czech artist Lukáš Novák.
Yesterday, we hosted a small preview. A heartfelt thank you to Lukas Novak and KodlContemporary gallery / Jakub Kodl for your inspiring deep dive into Lukáš’s work, and to all our guests for their curiosity and the great exchange.

Our stores are spaces where design and art enter into dialogue. For Munich Highlights, we are giving Galery Kodl from Prague a stage for the installation A Drop of Mirage by Czech artist Lukáš Novák.

Lukáš Novák is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Czech art. His work with glass sits at the intersection of art, design, and material research. His objects push beyond the boundaries of everyday perception, creating an atmosphere of mystery and optical illusion.

Lukáš Novák (b. 1987) lives and works in Prague. His work has been shown in London, Paris, New York, and Milan, and is held in private and public collections, including that of the Kunstgewerbemuseum Dresden. In 2025, his piece Pretty Mirage received the ARTERÍA Award at Venice Glass Week.

Harmonizing Contrasts.
The furniture’s clean, linear language offers a deliberate counterpoint to the roof’s multifaceted angles and slopes, bringing calm and precision to an otherwise dynamic spatial composition.
Since the architecture’s interplay of light and shadow already makes a strong visual statement, the color palette stays deliberately neutral, allowing only a handful of select accents — its energy coming instead from striking contrasts of light and dark.

Poul Kjærholm (1929–1980) was one of the most important Danish furniture designers of the 20th century, ranking among the leading figures of legendary Danish design. He carried existing modernist ideals forward with unmatched rigor and mastery of material — a consistency that still makes his work feel timeless and thoroughly modern, nearly 45 years after his death.
His PK22™ lounge chair embodies Kjærholm’s precise command of form and proportion. This year marks its 70th anniversary — the perfect occasion not just to introduce this extraordinary designer, but to give his timeless designs a special place in our exhibition, from now on at Pormenadepaltz 8.
