Meet Kaoru Iriyama and let her introduce you to the art and culture of Japanese cooking.
Born in Tokyo, Kaoru has been living in Berlin since 1998. She holds a degree in political science and trained at the culinary academy of Koyama Hirohisa, a master of Japanese cuisine. She further honed her skills at his renowned restaurant “Aoyagi” in Tokyo. Since then, she has been passing on her knowledge of Japanese cuisine and its philosophy in Germany.

On Wednesday, 15.05., Kaoru will be preparing traditional dumplings (Gyoza) with you. There will be various fillings, and she will show you how to fold Gyoza properly. As a classic accompaniment, you’ll also learn to prepare a ramen soup under Kaoru’s guidance, which you’ll later enjoy together. It’s a fantastic opportunity for vegetarians and vegans too, as there will be delicious variations available for them.
