A 100-year-old Danish box-making company who handcraft timeless, functional and aesthetic storage objects in natural surplus materials.

We make our boxes, covers and holders from natural surplus materials sourced from exclusive partners in the European furniture and fashion industry. Staying in line with Sandgren’s innovative spirit, we partner with experts in the industry as well as leading educational institutions e.g. The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.

Next week, Sunday we are opening our doors for a final sale and thereby your chance to acquire your last August Sandgren object.

Our friends have kindly offered us their space, and the final sale will therefore take place in their stunning showroom at Bredgade 35 in Copenhagen. We are forever thankful for their hospitality and friendship.

Last Round: The Bookbox

Some objects hold things. A few hold meaning.
The Box was the very first of August Sandgren’s aesthetic boxes, and it remains the one you reach for most. We first called it the Bookbox, after the beautiful old boxes people once made to guard their most treasured books, the volumes deemed worth protecting, worth keeping close.
That’s still the feeling we wanted to keep alive in it. A place for the things you don’t want to lose. Letters, keepsakes, the small objects that carry more than their size suggests.

As many of you know, we’ve decided to let August Sandgren rest for a while. Before we pause, we’re holding one last round, a final chance to bring home the piece you’ve had your eye on. Everything ordered through June will reach you before the end of summer.

After a lot of thought, we’ve decided to let August Sandgren rest for a while.
We love this brand. We love the partners and customers who grew it with us, and we love the people and the craft behind every piece we’ve made. But somewhere between a small start-up and a big business lies an endless stretch of hours, costs, and quiet ups and downs, and right now, we’ve decided to step off that path for a bit.

It isn’t easy to write this. We know many of you have carried our things through your days, your offices, your gifts to the people you love, and that means more to us than we can say.

So before we pause, we’re holding one last round. A final chance to bring home the August Sandgren piece you’ve had your eye on, for yourself or for someone dear. Anything ordered through June will be with you before the end of summer.
