Donya Pivot Wall sits on its backplate against the wall. Donya Pendant hangs over the worktop. They share a finish and a family, so they read as a single decision made in two places. In steel, a lamp takes its tone from the surface around it and leaves the surface to lead.

The wall lamp is the adjustable one. Its head turns on the pivot, so the light can be aimed along the wall or down onto the worktop, and once it is set it holds that position. The pendant emits its light downward and gives the worktop an even level to work from. One is directed, the other is even, and both stay within the same line.

The island sets the proportion of the room. The kitchen is left to say the rest, and the light is placed to agree with it rather than add to it.

I-MODEL Cordless in brushed stainless steel hangs above the island as a single horizontal. It holds the island’s axis and adds no second gesture, so the eye travels the length of the worktop and stops where the steel begins. A pendant in a kitchen like this has one job, which is to give the surface a measure: light at the height of the work, in a line that agrees with the room.

A new kitchen by .dk centres on an island clad in browned brass, formed in soft, organic lines with American walnut inside. The material is left to speak, and over time the brass will develop its own patina.

Our lighting works from the same premise. PARS Horizontal runs above the island, with Donya pendants set along the wall behind it. Our finishes are created in our workshop in Rødovre, in raw materials with an ageing process of their own, so the lamps and the island change together and each room ends up more personal for it.

T-MODEL - A reinterpretation of the classic desk lamp, with a form that holds its place in any setting. A tilting shade directs and diffuses the light, and the dimmer sets the level for the hour and the task.

It belongs on a desk, a bedside table or a shelf, in the bedroom, the dining room or the office. Available in three brass surfaces: polished, brushed and browned.

A kitchen by our partner , set on wide-plank oak floors by . Smoked timber, travertine and pale oak make up a palette of dark and warm tones with the grain left visible. The lighting follows the same logic.

Donya Pendants hang at table height, in bronze tones that mark out the dining area without closing off the room. The I-MODEL Cordless runs along the island as a single clean line and places light on the work surface where it is needed.

Our lamps are handcrafted in our workshop in Rødovre, and positioned with the architecture in mind, so the light belongs to the room from the first drawing.

I-MODEL Aura brings work light and ambient light together in one fixture. A down-facing light serves the task at hand, while a second source at the top sets the mood of the room, and the light source itself stays out of sight.

It is the first in the I-MODEL family to do both, in the same linear form the I-MODEL is known for. Designed with kitchen islands and higher workspaces in mind, it removes the need for ceiling spots.

Donya Pivot Wall is a sculptural piece for the wall, with a head that rotates to suit the room. It can give a soft, ambient light or a directed accent on an artwork or an architectural detail. Part of the Donya family, named after the Farsi word for "the world",available with or without onyx shade.

ANOUR lamps are shaped and finished by hand in our workshop in Rødovre. Brass, copper and steel are worked into their final form by craftspeople who know the material. Each lamp is assembled by hand, and each surface is given the time it needs. It is this attention to detail that allows an ANOUR lamp to stand the test of time.

Last week we spent an evening with our retail partner .is , together with some of Iceland's best architects and designers. We walked through how our lighting is actually made, from the workshop floor in Rødovre to the materials we choose and the reasons behind each one.

PARS Horizontal, in onyx and brushed brass, above the island in this Hellerup project.

The full renovation and interior design is the work of , full-service from architecture to furnishing. The kitchen itself, along with the bespoke carpentry throughout the home, was built in-house: oak cabinetry, glass-front joinery, brass hardware fitted by hand rather than sourced off the shelf.

It's a way of working we recognise. Each PARS lamp is shaped from a single block of onyx, cut and polished until the stone's own veining becomes part of the design rather than something to work around. No two pieces come out the same, the same way no two slabs of oak in this kitchen read quite alike.

Placed above the island, the lamp's onyx body picks up the same warmth as the wood and herringbone floors around it, while the brushed brass fittings echo the cabinet hardware throughout the room. Two different crafts, working from the same instinct: let the material lead.
