The armrest edition joins a wider collection built around the same distinctive form: the MZO Chair, available upholstered or unupholstered, and the MZO Bar Stool - all crafted in the same steam-bent beechwood.⁠

“Good design takes time,” says the grandson of the designer behind the ARCH Chair, originally designed in 1932.⁠

More than three years have gone into developing the chair - carefully translating the original design into a contemporary piece while staying true to its distinctive character.⁠
⁠
When Magnus Læssøe Stephensen designed the chair in 1932, he created the armrests from solid oak, steam-bent into their distinctive curved form. This unique craftsmanship, using steam-bent oak, remains a defining feature of the ARCH Chair today.

MAG Chair is made in solid oak, with the structure kept visible throughout the design. Nothing is hidden - you can clearly see how it is built and what it is made of.⁠

The shape comes from something organic: a succulent leaf, dense and slightly compressed, holding both softness and tension. From that comes a compact form that feels calm and natural rather than forced.⁠
⁠
A meeting point between structure and softness - between the architectural and the organic.⁠

More than anything, the week reminded us what design truly is: people. The conversations between them, the connections formed around objects, spaces, ideas, and stories. It is in these encounters that design becomes alive.⁠

At Mazo, every design begins with the question: not what is new, but what is worth keeping. What is worth living with - now, and over time. A question that only becomes meaningful in dialogue with the people who use, shape, and experience what we create.⁠

Rather than following a fixed agenda, we invite you to simply drop by. Enjoy a refreshment or an affogato, settle in, and take it all in.⁠

On Thursday from 4–6 PM, we also invite you to an open-air jazz session by .band in the courtyard of Dronningegården, in front of the showroom - an opportunity to slow down and enjoy an afternoon of music, design, and conversation.⁠
