Sold. ‘Visit’, 100x80 cm. The Bird is a chiffchaff (Gransanger) - one of the birds we rarly see in Denmark but often hear in the forest as it says “chiff chaff”

This one is inspired by baroque flower paintings. These where done mostly by women artists in the 17th century as flowers in their dark rooms were available motifs. And just like me they often added small insects full of symbolism.

For a while I have wanted to create something more sculptural. Also I am aware having as little as possible paint go to waste. So I started making stripes…

Stripes is a series of sculptural paintings featuring fine, unique horizontal stripes that create rhythm and tranquility, much like gazing at the horizon.
The seemingly static stripes change shape as you move around the piece, just as the colors shift with the light throughout the day. And of course, there is an insect on every Stripe if you take a closer look :).
