EBB & FLOW designs and produces lighting, and functional and decorative objects. Using classic British and Nordic style as a starting point combined with a passion for the basic materials glass, metal and textiles, the result is a style that infuses lighting and glass with a fine airy simplicity and a modern edge and depth of colour. All our lighting designs are made to bring warmth and joy, translated through colours and shapes they inspire and offer lasting beauty. EBB & FLOW is founded by Susanne Nielsen, who has a year-long background in international trade, marketing and concept development within the textiles and home accessories industry. Based in London for many years, she returned to Denmark in 2009, bringing with her a passion for interior design and the beauty found in different countries culture and craft tradition. The result was Who Found Otto, forerunner to EBB & FLOW, that specialised in vintage furniture and textiles. The company continues to build on its traditions of combining old with modern, celebrating unique enduring design.

A-spire in brushed Olive, a great pendant for hanging in a straight line. It is unusual for EBB&FLOW in that the glass is not mouth-blown, instead it displays a layered design with multiple brass and glass tubes that throws us back to the 1970s.

Stairways are great opportunities for displaying bigger lamps, taller shapes that would otherwise be too big for your dining table etc. Smykke pendants, the shape of an earring, does just that !

In our native Denmark the light is fading and the place for Hygge is mainly indoors. Candles and lighting...they go hand in hand !

Lit - unlit ! A lamp should look equally good, lit and unlit.

Defining a space where you want to spend time, like your bathroom, is an art. Combining neutral tones and materials with the soft curves of the pendant, creates an elegant and serene feeling. The Futura small pendants, used both as singles and repeated in a cluster in the background of the room.

What to do with a small-ish square dining table, our answer is, Use just one big pendant, let it fill the centre space above your table. With its shallow height and transparent colour, Horizon in XL Olive does just that !

NB! This photo was taken in the home of our designer, Susanne Nielsen, where the lamp continues to light up her kitchen ✨
