What comes to mind when you hear the word “basement”?

A dark room? Boxes full of things you haven't used for the last 15 years but are absolutely convinced you'll need one day? Of course, that day never comes. But you keep believing. And collecting more boxes.

Well, basements can be VERY different!

Some of them have a jacuzzi. And a luminous sea right above your head.

Just like this private house in Marshfield, Massachusetts, where our partners at Boston Stretch Ceilings installed a beautiful backlit stretch ceiling featuring a print of gentle sea waves.

Who needs a window with an ocean view when you can have the ocean on your ceiling?

Project details:

Location: Private house, Marshfield, Massachusetts, USA

Application: Jacuzzi room in the basement

Material: Translucent stretch PVC OT01 500 with UV printing

Manufacturer: Saros Est

Contractor: Boston Stretch Ceilings LLC

A huge thank you to our partners at Boston Stretch Ceilings LLC for the great cooperation and for sharing these lovely pictures of the completed project! We always appreciate seeing our products come to life.

And may we all be lucky enough to have basements like this one!

Have your own idea for a printed stretch ceiling? We'd love to help bring it to life! And to make sure the colors look just right in your interior, we offer two printed samples FREE of charge before you place your order.

Somehow, this week at Saros turned into a week of maps.

First came a designer looking for a large world map for a traveler’s home — something retro, warm and perfectly matching the sepia interior. Finding a detailed high-resolution map suitable for large-format printing was not easy. We finally found one… in bright turquoise.

No problem. A little color adjustment later, and turquoise became warm, cozy sepia.

We printed it on textile, which will be stretched over acoustic fleece — so the owner can mark his travels with pins while the whole panel also helps improve the room acoustics.

Then came another client, opening a coffee shop. Their challenge? Lots of concrete and not enough acoustic comfort. Their idea for a large acoustic wall panel?

A world map, of course.

This time, the pins will mark the countries their coffee comes from.

And finally, one of our dear long-term clients sent us photos of another completed project: a translucent printed stretch ceiling featuring — yes — a map. This time, a city map.

A big thank you Valter Franco Taranto Waltertendaggi for choosing Saros again and for always sharing finished-project photos with us. Seeing our products installed in real interiors is genuinely valuable to us.

One week. Three map projects.

And since the coffee shop map is still being designed, the third photo is our own Saros world map, with pins showing where our ceilings and luminaires have travelled.

Apparently, maps were simply meant to happen this week.

There was a time when were everywhere.

A few years ago, lacquer finishes were among the most requested products on the stretch ceiling market, and we still have dozens of colors available in our collection.

Today, tastes have changed a little. In Europe, at least, calm and finishes have clearly taken the lead. have become something of a rarity.

But white and black gloss? They seem to have decided not to follow trends.

And on large surfaces, they can still look absolutely spectacular.

This private house project in sunny Florida is a perfect example. Saros manufactured and supplied two large white glossy stretch ceilings made from our 5-metre-wide film — completely seamless.

The result is a perfectly smooth, mirror-like surface that reflects the interior, visually raises the ceiling and makes the whole space feel larger.

And yes, sometimes a little extra shine is exactly what an interior needs.

A huge thank you to our client and Christian Pollini for sharing this beautiful video with us, for the trust and loyalty, and for choosing Saros again. It is always especially valuable for us to see our materials installed and becoming part of a finished interior.

Saros in sunny Italy.

Wide remains one of the most popular choices for stretch ceilings worldwide. It creates a perfectly flat, smooth and clean ceiling surface, with installation taking just a few hours.
At Saros, we offer film in two widths — 200 cm and 500 cm — making it possible to cover even large spaces seamlessly.
The material also features high fire performance classes — B-s1,d0 / B-s2,d0 — and comes with a 10-year warranty. A Declaration of Conformity from the manufacturer is available upon request.
And this is how our material looks after professional installation in a project currently in progress in Italy.
Dear , thank you so much for sharing the photos with us. It is always especially valuable to see our products professionally installed on site and to follow the project as it takes shape.

Installation: Caldara Pitturazioni
Architect: Stefano Lorusso Architetto
manufacturer: Saros Est OÜ

These two clearly know something about Facebook algorithms and decided our post needed a little extra help.

And really, how are you supposed to scroll past faces like these without liking the photo?

No four-legged friends were harmed in the making of this content. They simply took their quality-control duties very seriously.

Now, back to the .

The owners of this apartment originally chose a . Bold, dramatic, definitely not the usual white.

But change, tastes change, and after a few years the dark ceiling started to feel a little too dark.

This is where one of the biggest advantages of a stretch ceiling comes in: replacing the membrane is quick and relatively clean.

We normally install stretch ceilings at the very end of the renovation, when almost everything else is already finished. And if years later you decide that black should become white, there is no need to start a major renovation all over again.

Remove the old membrane. Install the new one. A few hours later, the room feels completely different.

Same interior. Same . Much lighter result.

Approved by two very demanding supervisors.

We manufacture and supply our stretch ceiling solutions worldwide, while installation by the Saros team is available across Estonia.

From production to the finished ceiling, we stand behind the quality of what we make.

And a huge thank you to the owners of these two gorgeous four-legged stars for their trust — and for letting us photograph and share the finished result.

Dear friends, long time no see!

Now that the holiday season — including our little holiday from social media — is over, we’re starting the new autumn season with a fresh batch of production photos from our Saros Light facility.

Currently in production: a 3-metre-diameter suspended with an body, powder-coated in a rather unconventional color for us — bright red — and two “soft” .

And yes, I do mean TWO.

Because if you want to protect your beautiful main diffuser from unpleasant surprises such as dead insects, dust and other things that somehow always find their way inside, it’s really worth adding one extra transparent protective layer. A small detail that can save quite a lot of frustration later.

This beautiful piece is around 3 meters in diameter, as mentioned above, and there is one more challenge: it has to travel all the way to the USA.

Which means extra attention to packaging.
Sometimes getting our products safely to their final destination feels more complicated than producing them in the first place.

So when this one starts its journey across the ocean, we’ll definitely be keeping our fingers crossed.

For now, we can only show you the conceptual 3D model and real photos straight from the production floor — actual manufacturing, actual materials, actual work in progress. No AI-generated production shots here! The technical drawings stay behind the scenes, but we’re very much looking forward to receiving real photos of the finished from our dear partners in the USA.

Looking for a manufacturing partner for your bold ? Look no further. Tell us what you have in mind, and let’s discuss how we can turn it into reality.

To be continued…

People usually know us for , and all those things that make interiors look nice and sound better.

But every now and then our metal workshop quietly reminds everyone that it exists too.

This project is a good example.

For one of our long-term partners, , we manufactured and powder-coated these decorative steel beams for a . They sent us the idea, we turned it into reality, and judging by the feedback, everyone was happy with the result.

We've been working with the guys for several years. They produce beautiful custom-made furniture, always with great quality and attention to detail. Whenever our clients ask if we know a good company for bespoke furniture, Meister is one of the first names we recommend. We've trusted them with furniture for our own office, and we're always happy to recommend them to others.

If you only know Saros as "the stretch ceiling company", here's a little secret: that's only part of what we do.

We also have our own metal fabrication workshop, where we manufacture our . Alongside that, we regularly produce and carry out subcontracting work for large industrial companies.

Our workshop is equipped with:
✔ fibre laser,
✔ CNC gantry router for machining sheet materials such as plastics, wood and plywood,
✔ press brake,
✔ aluminium saw capable of precise angled cuts,
✔ 6-metre powder-coating line where we can finish long metal products in almost any RAL colour.

So if you're looking for a reliable manufacturing partner for metal fabrication, we'd be happy to talk.

Why are we all so obsessed with the sky?
Maybe it's humanity's eternal dream of flying. Or perhaps it's our endless curiosity about what lies beyond the clouds.

In almost 20 years of Saros, we've noticed one design trend that simply refuses to go away: the .

By now we've built quite a collection of sky prints. Deep blue skies, pale blue skies, dramatic clouds, barely-there clouds. Some people want sunshine, some want endless blue, some request a bird, others a tree branch sneaking into the frame. We've printed them on , , , even with to make the whole thing glow like nature... only with much better weather.

And then there's another option altogether: ready-made sky film.
Yes, it exists. And yes, it has its fans.

It also has one tiny feature that keeps our production team entertained: the clouds don't exactly enjoy lining up when several sheets have to be welded together. Suddenly you're no longer making a ceiling—you're solving the world's largest cloud puzzle, hoping every fluffy little cloud ends up exactly where Mother Nature definitely never intended it to be.

Luckily, we've become pretty good at this atmospheric jigsaw.

Now we're looking forward to the day we receive photos from a warm, faraway country, proving that this little piece of sky survived the journey and made it safely to the ceiling.

While the rest of Europe is melting in the heat, here in Estonia we're mostly hoping the rain doesn't wash us off the map. 🌧️😂

Funny enough, are a great idea in both cases.

In Southern Europe, you jump in to escape the sun.
In Estonia… you jump in to escape the weather and warm up in nice, cozy water. Same pool, completely different mission!!

One thing doesn't change, though: a is a perfect finish for a pool area.

✔️ It doesn't mind humidity.
✔️ Installation is fast and clean.
✔️ And if you're going to spend time looking up, why not choose your own sky? Blue skies, clouds, sunsets... or anything else you can imagine, printed right above your head.

So here's a little pool inspiration for today. If you're planning one, we know exactly what to put above it.
