The story starts at the door: a mother-of-pearl sun inlaid into mahogany.

From there, hand-hewn stone walls, rosewood panelling, cane weaves, linen and alabaster light.

Stone & Oak Villa

On the North Coast, we started with just two materials: hand-set stone and chiselled oak.

From the carved front door, the stone runs through the salon, kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, softened by cane, walnut, linen and garden light.

The future is inherited.

This week an 805-year-old Florentine pharmacy appointed Formafantasma as creative directors, Norman Foster worked with Murano's glass masters on a new chandelier, and the Design Museum opened thirty years of Es Devlin's archive. The thread: the most modern work starts from what already exists.

That has been the HEDS method from the start: the symbol, the craft, the workshop that still knows how, redesigned for how we live now.
