Lion Mountain Park: a new type of park

Lion Mountain Park is a large landscape park in Suzhou, China, designed by TLS Landscape Architecture.

🌿 In fact, this is not just a landscaping, but a project of regeneration of the entire urban territory around the historical Lion Mountain: earlier at its foot there was an amusement park, a muddy lake and aggressive entertainment buildings, and the new project returned the place's natural and cultural status.

🌿 The project is interesting because the focus is not on a single object, but on a whole spatial system: the mountain, lake, route, relief and scenarios of human movement work as a single whole. The park is built around a natural landscape and rediscovers the connection between water, relief and urban environment.

🌿 The peculiarity of Lion Mountain Park is that it combines several tasks at once: restoration of the natural environment, rethinking the territory and creating a new public space. This is not just a landscaping, but an example of how landscape architecture can become the basis for updating an entire district
