Building well means finding the process each project needs.

In this case the answer was the workshop. Fabricating the entire piece at ground level allows every joint and every measurement to be verified with a precision impossible to achieve at height.
Prefabrication also speeds up the work on site. The structure arrives complete and its installation on the roof takes only a few hours.

The flight lasts minutes. Everything else, months.

Construir bien es encontrar el proceso que necesita cada proyecto.

En este caso la respuesta fue el taller. Fabricar la pieza completa a pie de suelo permite verificar cada unión y cada medida con una precisión imposible en altura.
Prefabricar también agiliza la obra. La estructura llega terminada y el montaje en cubierta se reduce a unas pocas horas.

El vuelo dura unos minutos. Todo lo demás, meses.

The model helps us to understand and to design. The triangles reveal their interaction through structural logic and, in the same way, light passes through the color filter, allowing us to anticipate the atmosphere.

The model is also a verification tool. It allows us to check proportions, study the junctions between panels and foresee the assembly before actual construction. An essential step between idea and built work.

La maqueta nos ayuda a entender y diseñar. Los triángulos muestran su interacción a través de la lógica estructural y del mismo modo la luz atraviesa el filtro de color permitiéndonos anticipar la atmósfera.

La maqueta es también una herramienta de verificación. Nos permite comprobar proporciones, estudiar los encuentros entre paneles y prever el montaje antes de la construcción real. Un paso imprescindible entre la idea y la obra.

“The same geometry. Two different languages.”

Reinterpreting the craftsmanship of Modernism through digital techniques requires a rigorous, step-by-step methodology. The process begins with the study of the original skylight and its proposed contemporary counterpart, two compositions sharing the same spirit but speaking different formal languages.

The triangle is the protagonist at two scales. At the structural level, it defines the geometric form of the skylight through a composition of triangular structures that allow precise and adaptable forms to be generated.
Within each triangle, its own triangle reappears at a smaller scale and with a different role, now converted into a pixel, the minimum unit of colour. The chromatic complexity of the original composition is then simplified and distributed across that pixelated surface, pixel by pixel, until the full flat development is resolved.

Reinterpretar la artesanía del Modernismo a través de técnicas digitales exige una metodología rigurosa, paso a paso. El proceso parte del estudio de la claraboya original y de su propuesta contemporánea, dos composiciones que comparten el mismo espíritu pero que hablan lenguajes formales distintos.

El triángulo es el protagonista a dos escalas. A nivel estructural, define la forma geométrica de la claraboya a través de una composición de estructuras triangulares que permiten generar formas precisas y adaptables. Dentro de cada triángulo aparece su propio triángulo a escala menor y con un rol distinto, convertido ahora en píxel, la unidad mínima de color. La complejidad cromática de la composición original se simplifica y se distribuye sobre esa superficie pixelada, píxel a píxel, hasta resolver el desarrollo plano completo.
