Must do… sail on the Douro river with a glass of wine ⛵️🍇🌿🍷

A short flight from Madrid landed us in wine capital of the world…The Douro Valley. We were in awe driving through the endless steep hills of vineyards. Our first to do was taking a boat ride on the Douro River, to truly experience what this region is all about. We enjoyed fresh wine (right from a local vineyard) meat & cheeses along with wonderful tour by the best guide of the river.

Barcelona pt 2 🦐💋🍖🚲🖌️

Our second day included renting lime bikes & exploring this amazing city. One of our favorite things to do is renting bikes or scooters through the uber app to explore cities on our own time & in a faster way, sometimes cheaper way. We explored Gaudí art, ate way too many tapas (I put together our own “tapas tour”), biked to the Olympic arena, the Cathedral of Barcelona, the food market, checked out , and (my favorite) visited the kissing wall.

When we visit cities I research stops, restaurants, monuments ahead of time. I then pin them in Apple Maps under guides for that city. When we are out exploring it is easy to pull up the map and see if we are near a stop, restaurant or place that we should see. You can also send the guide to anyone that you are traveling with. Anniversary trip 2025 🎨🫒🍷🪇🌮

August of 2025 we celebrated 1 year married with a 2+ week trip to Spain & Portugal 🇪🇸🇵🇹

Day 1: After landing in Barcelona, we hit the ground running by seeing the famous Sagrada Família. We booked our tour tickets ahead of time & timed it for sunset. This allowed us to see the sunset glow through the stained glass windows. We followed our tour up by having amazing Michelin star dinner
