El USA Dry Pea and Lentil Council (Consejo Estadounidense del Guisante y la Lenteja Secos)fue creado en 1965 por un grupo de agricultores, procesadores y exportadores. Este organismo está formado por la Washington Dry Pea & Lentil Commission (Comisión del Guisante y la Lenteja Secos de Washington), la Idaho Dry Pea & Lentil Commission, el North Dakota Dry Pea & Lentil Council y el USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council Processor / Exporter Division and Grower Division (División de Procesadores / Exportadores y División de Agricultores del Consejo Estadounidense del Guisante y la Lenteja Secos). Estos grupos reúnen sus fondos para promover la comercialización tanto interna como internacional, la investigación y los programas educativos en torno al guisante, la lenteja y el garbanzo secos cultivados en el norte de Estados Unidos.

This pasta and lentil bolognese is hearty, wholesome, and made from staples, making it a simple yet effective addition to your menu 🍝

It’s also veggie-friendly to broaden your menu options!

Ingredients:
🌱 1 cup red lentils
🚰 2 +1/2 cups water
🧅 1/2 red onion
🍅 400 ml tomato pulp
🧄 2 garlic cloves
🥄 1 tbsp pesto
🧂 salt and pepper
🫒 olive oil
🌿 oregano
🍾 100 ml of white wine

Method:
1. Wash the lentils well under running water. Put them in a pan with the water and cook them. They should boil for about 10 minutes.
2. Remove the lentils from the heat, drain and reserve.
3. In a frying pan, place a drizzle of oil and the chopped onion, let it cook until the onion is translucent.
4. Add the garlic and pesto and let the oil aromatize.
5. Add the tomato, season to taste and let the tomato cook.
6. Add the white wine and let it cook to evaporate the alcohol.
7. Add the lentils, mix, and cook a little longer.
8. Adjust seasonings, add oregano. Mix well and turn off the heat.
9. Serve with pasta.
