Intercon was first set up in London in 1979 as the design arm of Intercon Ltd, a multi faceted group of companies with the construction company (Intercon UK Ltd) as its core business. Initially Intercon was the in-house design arm of the group and worked exclusively for this, in 1988 Mohammed Adib took over as managing director and Intercon started developing its own identity and capturing more an

d more direct design work, it split from the group and set up offices in Barcelona in 1993 taking on board Maria Escale as joint partner and specifically to develop the interior design work. The multi cultural team that forms the company is yet another insistence to their ever expanding global profile, where Catalan, Castellan, Arabic, English, Portuguese, Italian, German, French and Russian are spoken. Intercon through strategic partnerships is present in Dubai, Egypt, Almaty, Tripoli and Fortaleza. Intercon has, over the past 15 years, slowly begun to specialise in commercial interior design and specifically that of residential developments and hotels. The Intercon company philosophy and structure was first developed in London and ever since continuously adapted to cater for the changing demands of our clients and their markets. Our professional team offers our international clients the personal touch that forms the basis of our success, offering an integral service from the creative process of designing, through to the technical process of development and design management.

On beggining of October, we join Metresquared Team with many other amazing interior designers from all over the world to an inspiring trip to Ulricehamn, Sweden, where the amazing team at BOLON welcomed us to their factory.

We spent a few days diving into their world, exploring their cutting-edge facilities and learning how they’re redefining recycling. Their eco-friendly manufacturing processes gave us a fresh perspective on what sustainability truly means in design.
A big thank you to METRESQUARED and BOLON for the invite and for showing us how innovation and respect for the planet can go hand in hand.
