This past September, I had the opportunity and pleasure of designing a bedroom and full bathroom in Aspire Magazine’s “Art of Home” Showhouse in Upper Saddle River, NJ. My space was titled “a Room of One’s Own,” referencing Virginia Woolf’s feminist essays from 1928. Woolf’s groundbreaking writing argues that an income and a room of one’s own are essential to a woman’s creative freedom.

I wanted to create a space that has a delicate balance between artistic expression and quiet refuge. This space is not just about walls and furniture, but about a place that invites creativity, reflection, and renewal. Every element in the room has been curated with purpose. The furnishings, a mix of classic and contemporary, offer both comfort and beauty, ensuring that one feels supported—whether they are reading a book, creating art, or simply reflecting on the beauty of nature outside.

In this 2025 Aspire Showhouse, this room stands as an embodiment of both art and function—a perfect blend of style and purpose that celebrates and embodies the art of home.Thank you to for believing in me and for the partnership with and . Set within a remarkable 13,000-square foot estate, this exclusive event will showcase the creative visions of top designers from across the country- transforming the home into a one of kind masterpiece. The Art of the Home will offer an immersive experience for design enthusiasts, industry professionals, collectors, and media alike. The showhouse will also feature a curated selection of artworks from major artists and leading galleries, integrating fine art into each room to create environments where beauty, creativity, and storytelling intersect.
