In this modernized Chinese lantern, paper becomes blown glass, wires become solid metalwork finished in aged bronze, and the candle becomes an LED engine.

Fusing tradition, function and memory, the BAI collection of hanging lamps comes in three different shapes and sizes, with chandelier configurations possible with the smallest size.

While traditional Chinese lanterns hide what is inside, Neri&Hu strip away the façade to unveil the light’s inner workings, making public BAI’s inner glass tubes, for a unique modern design.

Designer : A rare fusion of craftsmanship and contemporary design. Burks nurtures a creative, yet practical design approach, highlighted by the Anwar collection, a innovative take on the cultural iconic craft of basket weaving. Stephen works directly with artisans around the globe with collaborative mindset and method, closing the gap of designer to the process of creation. His sensibility is seen both in the techniques as well as the materials.

Unique and spectacular, the Anwar Collection designed by .
Electroplated in brass, copper, and graphite, its bold forms are illuminated in coiled tension and can be combined like powerful totems. Each structure is composed by nearly 100 steel rods welded one by one creating an artisanal lamp mimicking the artisan style of traditional wicker baskets.
