📬 Degüaypostcards from northern Spain… A wedding in Santander became the perfect excuse for Adela and family to take the scenic route back to Madrid, with little villages like Etxalar along the way.
Swipe to come along, and don’t miss the last video… let’s just say we made a few woolly friends 🐑🐑🐑
Loredo beach, with blue skies and beautiful views across the bay towards Santander. That swim will have to wait until next time… a lovely excuse to return.
Santander, where the trip began with a wedding and a little time by the sea. Such a beautiful city, and always a pleasure to come back.
Itzurun beach, with cliffs that make you stop and stare. Game of Thrones fans might recognise the setting… though you certainly don’t need to have watched it to enjoy this view.
Getaria, with its fishing harbour and the sea never far away. The sort of stop you’re very happy to take your time over.
Hondarribia was one of Adela’s favourites, and it’s easy to see why. Full of character, with so many lovely corners to linger in.
Zugarramurdi, where the cave opens up to daylight and greenery finds its way in. Such a curious place to explore, following the paths and looking up along the way.
Amaiur / Maia, in the Baztán Valley, where we met a few lovely locals. You know how easily four-legged company persuades us to stop a little longer.
Elizondo from above, surrounded by all that green. A little pause to take in the view before wandering on.
A walk through the Señorío de Bertiz Natural Park, near the Baztán Valley, among oak, chestnut and beech trees. Adela couldn’t help thinking about the woods we work with… apparently, interiors follow us into the forest too.
Olite and its beautiful castle, which absolutely deserved a visit inside. Afterwards, a wander through the town, a little livelier than the tiny villages we’d been getting used to.
Hello, La Rioja 🍷 We started the day taking in the views, then moved on to a w**ery visit and a tasting… a very happy progression.
Laguardia, where the exploring continued underground with a visit to a w**e cellar. Always a treat to discover what lies beneath the streets you’ve just been wandering.
Sajazarra and its beautiful castle,
