Los kilims de Çal en Turquía son especialmente conocidos por sus llamativos diseños de medallones. Tradicionalmente, presentan un gran medallón central rodeado por otros cuatro más pequeños.

Una de las características más distintivas de los kilims de Çal es su vibrante paleta cromática. Predominan los tonos cálidos y luminosos de naranja, complementados por intensos rojos y toques de verde, creando la inconfundible armonía de color que hace que estos tejidos sean tan fácilmente reconocibles.

(👇English below👇) ¿Sabías que es raro encontrar kilims antiguos con el color azul? 💙 La razón es simple: en la época en la que se tejía tan solo con tintes naturales, el azul era uno de los colores más caros. Por tanto, cuando se usaba se priorizaba su uso en las alfombras antes que en los kilims.

Este kilim Qashqai antiguo y minimalista, con azul impactante, es de hacia 1920 y se distingue por la predominancia del azul oscuro, obtenido íntegramente con tintes naturales 🎨. La tejedora creó un diseño simple pero visualmente impactante, colocando solo dos medallones de gran tamaño en el campo central y dejando el resto del espacio libre. El efecto dramático se ve reforzado por el contraste entre tonos oscuros y claros.

En contraste, las múltiples cenefas son de escala delicada, con gran atención a los detalles intrincados, equilibrando la audaz simplicidad del diseño central. ⭐
Did you know that it’s rare to find antique kilims in blue? 💙 The reason is simple: in the period when weaving was done using only natural dyes, blue was one of the most expensive colors. As a result, when it was used, it was prioritized for carpets rather than kilims.

This antique and minimalist Qashqai kilim, with its striking blue tones, dates to around 1920 and stands out for the predominance of deep blue, achieved entirely with natural dyes 🎨. The weaver created a simple yet visually dramatic design, placing just two large medallions in the central field and leaving the rest of the space open.
