Niho Ceramic Art Barcelona I am a ceramic artist and I work with stoneware clay and porcelain in my studio in Sant Pere de Ribes just south of Barcelona.

I love exploring new shapes and experimenting with glazes.

I’ve been working a lot with a clay called Toffee lately 🤎 It has a warm caramel colour, a smooth feel and small speckles that make it look very natural.

For my dinnerware pieces, I like to leave the outside unglazed so the natural clay can show its texture. It’s soft, simple and really beautiful on its own. Inside, I pair it with a turquoise glaze that creates lovely effects and works perfectly with this clay.

Very soon I’ll have some larger salad bowls coming, and they make really nice gifts✨ I think they might become one of your everyday favourites ✨

✨ A little makeover for the studio ✨
Inspired by my travels through France, where every corner is beautifully decorated, I’ve added some flowers to the awnings to make the entrance more welcoming 🌸. Hopefully it inspires more color and charm along our street too!

The studio is getting ready to reopen for classes starting Monday, September 16th 🎉

The turn is done 🌀

The last sessions and workshops of the season are behind me, and I’m busy firing all the final pieces before I clean the studio and head off on a little summer break 🏝️

This has been such a rich and full season — from weekly classes to spontaneous hands-on sessions, kids’ birthdays, creative nights with friends and custom pieces for beautiful local projects.

Thank you to all my students, visitors, collaborators and event partners for making the studio such a lively place these past months. It’s been a joy ✨

This old wooden rolling pin has been with me since the 90s, when I picked it up at Camden Town Market in London.
A Victorian piece, beautifully worn by time — and by life.

Back then, I had no idea it would one day travel with me across borders and years, and end up in my ceramic studio near Barcelona.

It’s no longer rolling out dough but clay, carrying the marks of its past and present use.
After all these years, it’s still with me — simple, useful and full of stories.
