Every project tells a different story. Take Scala, for example. Here, our aluminium chains become part of the architecture, adding warmth, depth and a strong sense of identity. For this spec suite in Chicago, Kahler Slater chose a suspended ceiling installation by Kriskadecor to gently define the office's social hub.

Its soft, flowing forms add texture, movement and visual continuity, complementing an interior inspired by the warmth and sophistication of contemporary Tuscan retreats. The result is a workspace that feels welcoming, comfortable and designed around people. More information at https://kriskadecor.com/en/project/scala-spec-suite/

Whether shaping the heart of a workplace or contributing to a larger architectural vision, every project deserves a solution tailored to its space, its purpose and the experience it aims to create.

If you're exploring ideas for a future project, we'd be happy to be part of the conversation ✨

One hundred years ago, it all started with a bet ⛓️

In 1926, Josep Maria Sans Amill bet his classmates that he could build a machine capable of joining chain links automatically. Shortly afterwards, a conversation with a baker in Montblanc led to the first metal chain curtains.

From there came new ideas, materials, generations and new ways of understanding design. Each one added another link to a story that is still being written today.

To mark our centenary, we’ve looked back at some of the moments that brought us here. They’re not the whole story, but they help explain how we’ve evolved since 1926.

100 years, eight moments and many people behind them.

"Làmpada" | 100 Years Inspiring Emotions

To mark our centenary, we have launched "100 Years Inspiring Emotions", a temporary exhibition that invites visitors to rediscover Montblanc through aluminium chains.

To celebrate this milestone alongside the town where our story began, we invited several design schools to create site-specific installations inspired by some of Montblanc's most iconic locations. At the same time, pupils from two local primary schools took part in a drawing competition, with four of their artworks also becoming part of the exhibition.

The journey begins with "Làmpada", installed at the Portal de Sant Jordi. Inspired by the medieval character of Montblanc, the piece creates a dialogue between heritage, craftsmanship and contemporary design through a circular composition formed by concentric layers of aluminium chains.

Pop-up stores have become much more than temporary retail spaces. They are an opportunity to bring a brand's identity to life and create immersive experiences that people remember.

For the recent DUAbyAB pop-up store at Palais Royal in Paris, our aluminium chains became part of an environment created for the cosmetics line by singer Dua Lipa.

In this case, satin orange chains and a logo in RAL 5002 were selected to reflect its visual identity. As with every Kriskadecor project, the chains can be customised in any RAL or Pantone colour.

How important is colour when shaping a brand experience?

There are spaces where every element seems to speak the same language.

At Regnum The Crown Hotel in Antalya (Turkey), Studio Erk creates an experience shaped by continuity, natural materials and an atmosphere designed to be enjoyed at a slower pace.

Following the fluid language of the interior design, the studio integrated aluminium chains into the lobby through a suspended ceiling feature that accompanies the visitor journey. Their curved forms filter light, add depth and change subtly with movement and the passing of time.

An intervention designed to integrate naturally into the architecture and reinforce the sense of balance that runs throughout the project.

What makes a space memorable to you?

The final stop of our Fuorisalone journey during Milan Design Week 2026 took us to Nilufar Gallery, where Andrea Mancuso presented LUMIAC, an installation exploring the relationship between human beings and machines, between organic gesture and artificial thought.

Conceived as part of the work itself, our aluminium chains surrounded the luminaire through two overlapping curtains that acted as a visual filter between the gallery and the piece. More than defining a boundary, the installation accompanied the visitor’s journey, creating an intimate atmosphere that gradually revealed the work.

The name LUMIAC, an acronym for Light Unit Mechanized Intelligence Apparatus Computer, deliberately echoes MANIAC, one of the earliest autonomous computers developed in the 1950s. Conceived as a kinetic entity, the piece blurs the boundaries between object, sculpture and machine, turning the act of viewing into an experience of discovery.

Some projects remain alive long after their inauguration.

This year, three particularly significant milestones also converge within the same space: we celebrate 100 years of our history, the centenary of Antoni Gaudí is commemorated, and it has now been five years since our participation in Kengo Kuma’s intervention for Casa Batlló - Gaudí Barcelona. A project where architecture, light and movement continue to engage in dialogue over time.

The aluminium chains accompany visitors from the skylight down to the former coal cellars, creating a large vertical cascade around the eight-storey staircase while integrating naturally into Gaudí’s universe.

Have you visited it in person? We would love to hear what you thought of the experience ✨

Last Saturday, we received the Honour Award from the Consell Comarcal de la Conca de Barberà region in recognition of the centenary journey of Josep M. Sans Amill SA and Kriskadecor.

An award that means a great deal to us because it comes from home. From the place that has seen us begin, grow and evolve over three generations.

Our story began on Carrer Major in Montblanc, Tarragona (Spain), 100 years ago. Although our chains are now part of projects around the world, the Conca de Barberà region remains an essential part of who we are.

This recognition also belongs to all the people who have been part of the company throughout these years: employees, clients, collaborators, suppliers and families who, through their effort and commitment, have helped make this journey possible.

Our thanks to Ajuntament de Montblanc for their support and trust, and to the Consell Comarcal Conca de Barberà for this very special recognition.

From Montblanc to the world, without ever losing sight of where we come from.

Our presence in Milan also continued across the city through a renewed collaboration with Archiproducts Milano at Fòco, Living Notes by Studiopepe.

For this intervention, our aluminium chains clad the central staircase of the showroom in pale pink and amethyst tones, transforming it into an immersive and atmospheric journey.

After taking part in previous editions inspired by water and air, this year we joined the final chapter of the project, centred around fire as an element capable of activating the environment and generating connection.

What do you think about it? ✨

During Milan Design Week, our presence also extended beyond the fairgrounds.

At the Appartamento Spagnolo, located inside the historic Palazzo Castiglioni, we took part in an exhibition promoted by ICEX under the Interiors from Spain brand, in collaboration with Elle Decor Italia and Studiopepe, bringing together 22 companies representing contemporary Spanish design.

Within this context, our chains acted as space dividers, enveloping and connecting the different exhibition environments while maintaining visual openness. A light and fluid intervention, conceived to accompany the visitor’s journey. What do you think about it?
