Our beloved ‘School Chair’ by Ron Arad sold last month and has since made its way to Japan. A bittersweet farewell, but the project it's heading into is worth the goodbye.

We're looking forward to sharing more once its complete

Pair of Swedish Silver Needle Dishes

A beautiful pair of small silver needle dishes from the height of 19th-century Swedish silversmithing. One, attributed to Adolf Theodor Lillja, Stockholm, 1844, has a softly contoured Rococo-style border with delicate engraved floral decoration. The other, produced by the Möllenborg-Féron workshop, Stockholm, 1871, features a finely pierced rim of intertwining leaves and vines.

Known for its high level of craftsmanship, the Möllenborg workshop ranked among Sweden’s leading producers of decorative silver in the 19th century with works now held in the collection of the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

’Purkersdorf’ Armchair by Josef Hoffmann & Koloman Moser for Wittmann

One of the most significant pieces of 20th-century design history is passing through Gitte. The Purkersdorf armchair was created for Gustav Klimt’s 1903 Vienna Secession exhibition and was later placed in the entrance hall of the Purkersdorf Sanatorium. It stands as a landmark in Josef Hoffmann’s work and marks a defining moment in Viennese Modernism.

Wittmann brought the chair into production in 1973 and later obtained the exclusive rights to manufacture Hoffmann’s furniture based on his original designs. This particular example retains its original Wittmann label and cushion.
