The city of Vardø is the easternmost city in Norway and actually all Scandinavia. Life on Vardøya island depends on fishing but is nowadays also a popular spot for bird-watching and nature photography.

In the centre of the city, on the rugged coast of the Barents Sea, Vardø Hotel has served visitors since the 1970’s. We are so proud to be a part of the hotel’s next steps with a vast renovation, making the hotel into a central hub for meetings and hospitality in the city.

The natural beauty and authentic history of the island offer an incredible chance to stop and wonder at the crossroads of untouched nature and traditional craft. Samuli and Tomi from the Vertti & Co team visited the island and the team behind Vardø Hotel’s new chapter: Kåre Tannvik, Tove-Mette Antonsen and Tor-Emil Sivertsen. Destination Vardø, the bigger project that the hotel renovation is a part of, aims to unify amd uplift everything Vardø has to offer from hospitality to adventures.

We can’t wait to share more about the project, but in the meantime you can enjoy Samuli’s camera roll from their Vardø visit.

We love the process of creation. Discussion, ideation and transforming thoughts into action points in the design. Functional solutions that bring ease and flow to the daily flow in a space. Magical touches that surprise and live rent-free in your head even after leaving the space.

Designs that feel intentional but not forced.

3D renderings are a tool to describe and bring to life the design, allowing viewers to sense the atmosphere of the finished space. And there’s nothing quite like witnessing these designs come to life and people experiencing them for the first time.

At Vaattunki Wilderness Resort we created options for travelers with different goals. A private room in the main building, riverside cottages for added privacy or an igloo inviting you to just relax and take in the auroras.

Saunas often involve an apartment worth of design decisions. Maybe it speaks about their importance and role in our society.

Limited space, high expectations. In the list of requirements there are ambience, efficient use of space, easy cleaning, natural and inviting materials. A feeling of security and privacy while also providing some unforgettable moments that make you linger a little longer than planned.

Saunas embody our Logic & Magic methodology perfectly in a smaller scale. Functionality taking centre stage. Small carefully crafted show elements and ambience that a visitor will remember for a long time. Whether a place for solitary meditation or social encounters and discussion, we want the saunas we design to have their own character and sense of belonging.
