Yet another morning at the lake. We put some fishtraps to catch spawning burbots. There was almost half a meter of ice so chainsaw became handy.

I made thus seax two years ago for our Master of the Hunt. Somehow I forget to take pictures of it. Today he brought it to our yearly moose hunt celebration.

Blade is forged from silversteel with brass and cast bronze fittings. Sheath has also metal decorations and handle is birch burl dyed with natural colourings and treated with beeswax and pine tar

A skull of an ancient warrior, fallen in a battle now long forgotten.

A damascus steel puukko blade forged from 1080 carbon steel and old wrought iron with 1080 in the center. They welded very easily and the pattern is also clearly visible after ferric chlorc, or forbidden Fanta as my son calls it.

I built this mobile sauna with my friends. Now it is my turn to use it for the summer. It really helps to keep my tiny home cool, because I just have go to the sauna daily, no exceptions ever.

Syksyn saapuessa alkaa taas kansalaisopiston kurssit. Viime vuoden tapaan opetan kolmesti viikossa:

Sepäntyöt maanantaisin klo 18-20.15
Naisten puutyöt tiistaisin klo 17-20
Puutyöt ja entisöinti torstaisin klo 17-20

Kaikissa ryhmissä on vielä paikkoja jäljellä, ja jotta kursseja päästään pitämään, erityisesti sepäntöihin ja naisten puutöihin tarvittaisiin lisää osallistujia. Mikäli kiinnostaa, alla olevasta linkistä pääsee suoraan ilmoittautumaan kursseille! Viimeinen ilmoittautumispäivä on pe 26.8..
