In Term 1 and Term 2, we grew things for the very first time
We had no idea how to plant or care for many of these plants, but we had something important — good soil, curious minds, and lots of little hands ready to help. 🌱
The garden was given all the love and attention it needed. Students were assigned jobs like watering, picking up rubbish, and harvesting ripe tomatoes. We even made it a point to greet our plants every day because, just like us, they needed care and attention. 💚
We added little garden houses, pulled out extra basil when it started taking over, placed sticks to support our growing tomatoes, and tried our best to keep everything healthy.
Along the way, we learned so much! The students recorded changes, observed growth, and noted how long each plant took to develop. Our sunflower was especially special it grew from seeds found in a cereal packet! 🌻✨
The best part? Watching the children enjoy the garden. They picked and tasted fresh basil straight from the plant while working, celebrated every ripe tomato, and loved seeing their efforts grow.
We loved every minute of this project and cannot wait to see what we plant next! 🌱
More tomatoes? More sunflowers? Something new? Let’s see what our next garden adventure brings! 🌻🍅
One things for sure, we learned from. Our mistakes and this time we will start over with confidence.
