The Cook's Atelier is a French cooking school, epicurean destination, culinary boutique + wine shop and online boutique in the center of historic Beaune, France. We celebrate the connection between the farmer and the cook through hands-on cooking classes, market tours, workshops, and wine tastings. Our Wine Shop at The Cook's Atelier features small production wines from France, Italy and Germany. Our culinary and online boutique is a mix of vintage finds, cook's tools, provisions and copper. The shop is a constantly changing collection of simple, useful and beautiful things. Nothing too fussy. Our shop is worth a visit, but if that is not possible, our online boutique offers a glimpse of some of our favorite finds. We ship our culinary products and wines Worldwide! www.thecooksatelier.com

This is how we buy salad in France.

Nothing is more French than an apple galette with a thin layer of almond cream hidden under a beautiful spiral of baked apples. While we sometimes give this classic a little twist by using walnuts or hazelnuts in the cream, without fail, we come back to almonds, which lend a faint sweetness that pairs well with fall’s best crisp, tart fruit. Topped with a barely sweetened cream with a hint of Cognac, it makes the perfect fall dessert when you want to make something special with everyday ingredients.
