🌱 As spring draws to a close, so does the helleborus seed harvest season.
While this year's harvest is nearing completion, we are already preparing the next generation of hellebores destined for growers around the world.
After pollination, the flowers develop seed pods that gradually mature before naturally opening to release their seeds. In the wild, these seeds simply fall to the ground and self-sow around the mother plant. In professional production, however, every step requires precision to ensure seed quality, varietal purity, and consistent performance.
Since the acquisition of Aad Koen at the end of 2023, we have successfully integrated helleborus seed production into our long-standing expertise in breeding and seed harvesting.
Today, our assortment includes 6 species and more than 30 varieties, featuring the commercial ranges SNOYA® (Helleborus niger) and GRØØVE® (Helleborus orientalis), alongside botanical species including Helleborus argutifolius, H. foetidus, H. lividus, and H. × sternii. This broad genetic portfolio allows us to meet the needs of growers looking for both market-driven varieties and distinctive landscape plants.
