In the middle of a crowded meat market, several dogs sat confined in small metal cages as passersby looked on. The animals appeared frightened, with no way to escape their situation.
One man chose not to ignore what he saw. He approached the sellers and paid what he could to remove the dogs from the cages. One by one, he gently lifted the trembling animals and carried them to safety. He returned again and again, determined not to leave while any were still trapped.
