🎄 Red Velvet Christmas Tree Cookies ❤️🎅

These bold, red, chocolatey cookies are not only eye-catching, but irresistibly soft and perfect for gifting or holiday dessert tables.
Ingredients:
For the Red Velvet Cookies:
2½ cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1¼ cups granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp red gel food coloring
For the Royal Icing:
4 cups powdered sugar
3 tbsp meringue powder
5–6 tbsp water
White and green gel food coloring
Edible red pearls or candy balls
Instructions:
Make the Dough:
In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and red coloring. Gradually add dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
Chill the Dough:
Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Cut & Bake:
Roll dough to ¼-inch thickness. Cut into tree shapes. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes. Cool completely.
Make the Royal Icing:
Whip powdered sugar, meringue powder, and water until stiff peaks form. Divide and color part of the icing green.
Decorate:
Pipe white icing in snowy patterns. Add green holly leaves and red candy pearls. Let set completely before serving.
