After seven years of work, the last two and a half of them closed, the most famous hotel in Cannes, βCarltonβ, opened on Monday.
Outside it looks the same and they have kept the old entrance door, but when you step inside itβs a whole new worldβ¦
The lobby that meets you are a large open space.
The reception has become invisible and pushed back behind heavy doors. The idea is to eliminated the transactional side of the lobby and not let the Carlton experience start with giving a credit card imprintβ¦
The new βBar 58β has small intimate touches with a club like feel, and it opens out to a new beautiful green atrium spaceπ
We had both aperitif and a late night drink in βBar 58β last nightπ₯ Gorgeous place and highly recommended!
The βRiviera Restaurantβ has three different dining areas, with three different light settings. The first one is the bar area (a bit to bright for my tasteπ‘) the second is a small elevated area (much to brightπ‘ππ‘) and the third is the tables in the winter garden (it definitely has the best light setting π―οΈ)
Architecture is important, but in my opinion lightning is what makes a place have atmosphere and soulπ This restaurant has great potential, IF they turn down the lightsβ¦
The menu, food and music was good, and with a table in the winter gardenπ―οΈ we will definitely visit againπ΄
Another point worth mentioning was the staff.
Well done to all the people at work yesterday!!
