A refined pair of French oil lamps dating to around 1900, with well-proportioned ceramic bodies resting on cast brass bases with rocaille-inspired detailing. Each is hand-painted on a soft beige ground with delicate wildflowers and small songbirds, finished with subtle gilding that catches the light with quiet warmth. Variations in tone between the two, from the slightly lighter ground of one to the differing floral hues, reflect their hand-crafted nature.

The glaze has developed a fine overall craquelure, giving the surface depth and a softly luminous quality. Both lamps retain their original brass fittings and tall glass chimneys, with light oxidation to the brass consistent with age and adding to their character.

A petite and quietly poetic French washstand from the late 19th century, full of the gentle charm of a provincial bedroom. Crafted in warm honey-toned walnut, it features a deep drawer with beautifully lively grain, a lower shelf, and turned towel rails on each side.

The white marble top, softly veined in pale grey, is framed by matching marble galleries with gently scrolled ends.

The surface shows honest signs of age, with burnished walnut and softly timeworn marble marked by light staining. A small crack to one of the iron scrolls reflects years of use, adding to the piece’s character rather than detracting from it.

Compact and slightly low in profile, it sits easily in a smaller bathroom or guest room, bringing a quiet sense of French country ease and considered simplicity.
