Thierry Lemaire

Thierry Lemaire Architecte DESA, designer et décorateur Architect, interior designer, but more essentially a refined aesthete. Deeply-rooted passion.

For the past twenty years, Thierry Lemaire has successfully achieved the implementation of deluxe apartments and private houses, while recently, he has created new public spaces in the Parisian capital. This gift for interior architecture has led him to conceive strong venues, which he permeates with sensual modernism. He also designs furniture with lines and materials that leave no one indifferen

t, all this inherited from his first love, straightforward architecture, and from his passion for Jean-Michel Frank, Paul Dupré-Lafon, Jean Prouvé…

A teaching which he has reworked to his liking, without disavowing his inspirations, and which he applies today for Haussmannian apartments as well as for chalets in Gstaad, a holiday home nestled on a beach in Portugal, a triplex in Beirut, a palace in Rabat…

In addition to his keen interest in 20th and 21st century decorative arts, Thierry Lemaire also strives to showcase contrasts. Right from the outset, everything he draws offers radical simplicity, an evidence that imposes no comment, but when you look more closely, there is extreme sophistication. Whether it’s for his prestigious building sites or for his high-end furniture pieces, his passion for content and container features the same exacting requirements in terms of details, a taste for streamlined graphics, noble, strong and timeless materials, —precious and rustic, smooth and rough— such as marble, bronze, Macassar ebony, lacquers, exotic essences. This multi-faceted talent is also expressed through his scenography, where everything that he conceives is imprinted with a strong signature. As proof, the many stands he designed during prestigious biennales for the Yves Gastou gallery, but mainly the thematic exhibitions of AD Interiors in which he regularly participates. To provide his furniture with a window-display worthy of the upscale settings for which they are most often created, he opened in 2017 an eponymous gallery in Paris, presenting his furniture alongside the work of talented artists, painters and ceramists, who he represents with the same conviction.
