In Madrid, the Galería de las Colecciones Reales is hosting the exhibition “Tejiendo la vida cortesana.”, dedicated to Spanish royal commissions and the textiles that shaped the interiors of royal courts.

For this occasion, Tassinari & Chatel is exceptionally lending Camille Pernon’s design book, which is leaving France for the first time. A major figure in the history of Lyon’s textile industry and a predecessor of the Maison, Camille Pernon created numerous fabrics for the Spanish court during the 18th century.

Through a selection of exceptional textile works, the exhibition highlights the craftsmanship of textile manufactures, the court workshops, and the creations that adorned royal residences throughout the centuries.

Until 20 September, the is presenting the exhibition “Orner le Mur”: Art and Industry in the Service of Decoration, exploring the evolution of decorative arts and interior wall decoration.

As part of the exhibition, visitors can discover a selection of archives from Maison Tassinari & Chatel, drawn from the collection donated to the Musée d'Orsay by Suzanne and Raphaël Tassinari. Comprising 16 boxes of textile designs and fabric samples, this documentary collection reflects the richness of the Maison's creations and its contribution to the history of furnishing textiles.

Now preserved by the museum, these archives help preserve an exceptional textile heritage and offer a unique insight into the craftsmanship, creative inspirations and designs that have shaped the history of the decorative arts.

For more than three centuries, these point paper plan and gouaches have borne witness to the richness of the Tassinari & Chatel archives, part of Maison Lelièvre, an extraordinary repository of nearly 100,000 documents, including textile samples, graphic works, and rare books.

As a true living testament to textile heritage, this collection continues to bring historic fabrics back to life while inspiring bespoke creations, perpetuating exceptional craftsmanship through time.
