La boutique Charbonnel, un lieu chargé d'histoire ...
En 1862, animé par un esprit pionnier et fort de son expertise scientifique, le chimiste François Charbonnel ouvre une petite boutique sur les bords de Seine, avec sa propre marque de papier d'art.
A l'époque, l'arrivée de la photographie et des procédés photochimiques ont permis un renouveau spectaculaire de l'estampe. Les sols, encres et vernis nouvellement créés par Charbonnel ont donc rapidement attiré des artistes tels que Pissarro, Renoir, Degas, Manet, Lautrec et Signac au magasin.
Rapidement, la réputation des matériaux Charbonnel est devenue mondialement reconnue pour sa qualité inégalée.

In 1862, driven by a pioneering spirit and strengthened by his scientific expertise, the chemist François Charbonnel opened a small shop on the banks of the Seine, with his own brand of art paper.
At the time, the arrival of photography and photochemical processes led to a spectacular revival of the print. Charbonnel's newly created grounds, inks and varnishes therefore quickly attracted artists such as Pissarro, Renoir, Degas, Manet, Lautrec and Signac to the shop.
Soon, the reputation of Charbonnel materials became world-renowned for their unparalleled quality.
