E5: a short video showing the process behind my paintings “Golden Parrot” and how it came about.

Here’s our « Luzbox » speakers in the making, a fun piece in collaboration with . Louis build the electronics and printed the tweeters at home. Whilst I painted the box with acrylics and came up with a concept behind the presentation.

« Luzbox » mirrors the specializations of the right and left hemispheres of the brain, respectively. The left speaker, we called the “the verb”, represents the logical part of the brain, analyzing, processing language and maths. As for the right speaker, called “the vision” reflects the processes taking place in the right side of the brain, linked to imagination, creativity and visual perception.

Could you pick up some of these features through the symbols we created ? Comment them below !

E4 Bali Series : I explain the reflections I had whilst in Bali. I explore the themes of womanhood, the Hindu rituals, the cycle of life and death, and how they are all connected. Particularly, I am captivated by the tension that exists in the tropics of abundance and decay. This is what I wish to represent in my paintings.

Thank you to all who came to see our exhibition “Daughters of the Tropics”. You made the dream came true 🌺👁️

Special thanks to Niluh and Louis for welcoming us in this new space and for collaborating along the way.

Thanks to my family. This exhibition was about you, the inspiring women in my life. My mother for her unconditional love. My little sister who is engaged by my side, since (her) day one on this journey. Thank you to my cousins and the unshakable bond we share.

Thank you for the old friends who continue to show up. And thrilled to have met new faces with who I connected instantly.

This is just beginning 🧚🏼

- Location: Jl. Veteran No. 193, Tumbak Bayuh

For those familiar with Balinese landmarks, you probably recognized this one: Tanah Lot, but with a Fauvist twist. I particularly enjoyed painting the ocean swirls with gouache and highlighting them with pastels.

This is one of my favorite Fauvist illustrations I made. It shows a joglo by the pool, a traditional architectural form typical of the island of Java. The surprising mix of yellow, turquoise, and red attests to the abundance of living in Bali's tropical dream.
