Gallery visits always remind me why I do this work. We stopped by to see the incredible work of —an artist who doesn’t just create, he reclaims.

What struck me most is how Bouvy transforms discarded advertising prints—misprints, wrong colors, “mistakes”—into raw, expressive collages that explore the body, identity, and memory. What would’ve ended up as waste becomes art. That mindset is at the heart of Threads of Connection: using what’s thrown away to tell deeper stories.

Thank you, Anne, for the full experience. This visit was a reminder that sustainability isn’t just about material—it’s about intention, and Bouvy is proof of that.

Artists are the storytellers of our time—keeping memories of trailblazers alive and giving shape to the past through creativity.

Benjamin Banneker, a free Black mathematician, astronomer, and inventor, played a key role in the original design of Washington, D.C. In 1791, he helped survey the land, and when lead architect L’Enfant abruptly left with the plans, Banneker famously recreated them from memory. His brilliance ensured the capital’s vision moved forward.

Artists today continue that work—honoring lives like Banneker’s and reminding us of the legacy built into every corner of our cities.

If you’re in Paris, take the time to visit Corps et Âmes at the Pinault Collection. In my 8 years of living here, it’s the first time an exhibition made me truly miss home. It touched something deep—there were moments when I cried. The works speak with honesty, vulnerability, and strength. Go see it. Let it move you too.

This summer was probably the most difficult one I have ever experienced, and I have gone through some rough times. For those of you who know, you know and I don’t want to get into the details. However, I will say that there are angels in this world who, despite not knowing me, cared for me unconditionally during an incredibly challenging situation. This house in Arona, Italy, and the surrounding countryside saved my mental health. The Italian-Canadian couple has become part of my family, and I have become part of theirs. I am so grateful to them and to everyone who helped me along the way.

My point in sharing this message:

The universe will call you one day to truly be there for someone you may not know. When that calling comes, answer it.
