From the street, a concrete wall pigmented with pale pinks, blues, greens, and yellows hints at the palette inside the home artist Luiza Gottschalk and her husband, architect Tito Ficarelli, designed. “The colors of that wall are replicated all over the house,” says Tito, cofounder of Arkitito. “It’s basically a palette of colors picked up from nature.” A connection to nature was central to the design of the home, where the couple live with their daughters and their septuagenarian family friend, Mrs. Zelita. The trapezoidal house, known as the Toca House, takes its name from the Portuguese word for “burrow.” Not unlike the crawl spaces animals build for themselves, the home features strategically placed openings that let in natural light and frame the landscape. What’s most impressive about the home is its puzzle-like layout. A metal spiral staircase pierces through each level of the structure, from the gallery on the main floor (see photo 7) to Luiza’s lofted art studio that tucks below the roof’s pitch. Tito’s small music studio—where he records with his rock band—sits just below Luiza’s art space. For Tito, the home is supposed to be a mix, both of styles and of purposes. “Inside and out, you see the house clearly in all its layers, its slices,” he says. Ed è proprio di questa struttura che vogliamo raccontarvi: inaugurato nel 1926, l’iconico stadio di Oslo è stato rinnovato dallo studio Snøhetta con un progetto che mette al centro i protagonisti del gioco, i calciatori. Un percorso progettuale che è anche un viaggio emotivo, dall’attesa nel foyer alle ultime indicazioni in spogliatoio, fino al tunnel che conduce al campo.⁠ Materiali locali come ardesia norvegese e legno di betulla creano un’atmosfera essenziale e autentica, pensata per rafforzare lo spirito di squadra e rendere omaggio alla storia calcistica del Paese.⁠ Funzione, emozione, identità: la veste dell’Ullevaal è un tributo alla forza del gruppo e all’orgoglio nazionale.⁠

And it is precisely this structure that we want to tell you about: inaugurated in 1926, the iconic stadium in Oslo has been renovated by Snøhetta studio with a project that focuses on the protagonists of the game, the footballers. A design journey that is also an emotional journey, from waiting in the foyer to the last directions in the locker room to the tunnel that leads to the field. Local materials such as Norwegian slate and birch wood create an essential and authentic atmosphere, designed to strengthen team spirit and pay homage to the country's football history. Function, emotion, identity: the Ullevaal's makeover is a tribute to team strength and national pride.
