Handmade is the new luxury.

Intricate work can’t be rushed. Porcelain asks for time, patience and a steady hand, and clay never forgives hasty hands. So in the studio, at least, I have to slow down.

Every petal here was shaped by hand, one at a time. In a world that moves fast, I think that’s what makes a piece feel precious: you can sense the hours held inside it.

I recently created a special set of my porcelain Serenity petal wall art in a custom colourway, and loved the colour so much that I decided to create a similar set for the website.

Titled “Go With the Flow,” this abstract wall sculpture installation is made up of 55 individual porcelain wall sculptures that are reminiscent of water droplets, petals or leaves. They are arranged in a way inspired by flowing water and waterfalls. My aim with this work is to create a sense of gentle movement, to give the eye a place to wander and rest. It was inspired by sitting in nature by a stream, which is my favourite place to find a sense of peace.

It features colours inspired by Farrow and Ball’s gentle Teresa’s Green and soothing Dix Blue for the green blue and teal colours, and added gold accents to create luxury and warmth. The metallic creates a little sparkle as water would, along with some pieces in the natural white ceramic, which lifts the work and shows off the natural beauty of my favourite natural porcelain clay.

Behind the scenes in the studio this week...

There’s been lots of making, creating, sculpting, carving and finishing off bespoke artworks. Swipe to see some more of what we’ve been up to >

1. First things first, a fresh slab of clay to start the day!

2. Prepping some small delicate petals along with hand crafted buttons as part of a new and bespoke piece... Watch this space!

3. A photo of 39 custom Flora on a burgundy wall finished in Farrow & Ball’s Brinjal.

4. A close up of custom Flora finished in a deep, rich burgundy colour inspired by Sherwin Williams’ Blackberry.

5. An arrangement of porcelain petals measuring between 6cm-10cm and finished in a mix of custom colours and metallic finishes.

6. A close up shot of a small Flora sculpture. The intricate texture really brings each piece to life. Each piece for this bespoke wall art set has been finished with a single stitch of silver wire.

7. A sneak peek of a recently finished bespoke set of porcelain petals; this time, in a mix of Blues inspired by Farrow & Ball’s Dix Blue 82, Teresa’s Green 236 and Green Blue 84.

Summer may have come to an end, but this set of pretty porcelain petals is ready to welcome autumn with its cosy colour palette.

Titled “Autumn Whisper,” this ceramic artwork is for those who love the warm, earthy tones of autumn and the golden hour glow that brings out hues of burnt orange and chocolatey charcoal as the light falls across the surface. The simple, minimal forms bring an elegant, romantic feel to a space, and they can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit even tricky rooms.

As pictured, the arrangement measures approx. 180cm wide by 85cm high. It can of course be adapted if you’d prefer a different layout, so get in touch if you’d like it tailored to your space!

I’ve been experimenting with some compact groups of petals this week, trying out different colours together and generally playing with ideas and forms. Lately I have also added another dimension, the use of multiple heights within a piece, allowing for layering and overlapping of shapes. The resulting compositions have been super interesting, changing the feel of the artwork completely, creating intimate groups that are more dense and have a structured feel.
You may have noticed that I’m slightly obsessed with deep burgundy aubergine tones lately too - these added to the gold and white create a strong, confident and contrasting scheme, with the natural porcelain punctuating and refreshing the richness surrounding it.

It will be interesting to see these smaller groups, perhaps framed by the architectural details of a small wall or alcove.

Let me know if you love these deep merlot tones as much as I do!

Our client opted for delicate stitches of silver steel wire for this set of custom, textural, layered floral sculptures for their home decor, as their textiles and interior style feature lots of blue tones. The blue hues in their interior have a cooler undertone, so opting for silver over a warm, brass-gold finish pairs perfectly with the current colour palette.

This set is a custom group of 39 individual sculptures for a client’s beach house. There’s an empty wall on an open landing space that joins two floors, with beautiful full-length windows that overlook the rest of the neighbourhood and surroundings. We think the lightness of the natural porcelain, paired with the intricate texture, will create a statement as you walk up the stairs to the lounge — while also feeling reminiscent of the sea.

Before shipping this set out to its new home in the US, we thought we’d get some photos of it on a wall of Farrow & Ball’s Brinjal, which tones with it perfectly. We love the contrast between the natural porcelain and the deep, rich burgundy tone.

This bronze finish is perfect for creating warmth and elegance in a space whilst also adding a modern twist into your interior style. We’ve seen lots of bronze accents in interiors recently and we love how using mainly bronze in this arrangement creates drama and style.

Soft neutrals, warm subtle earthy tones and layered textiles are a great foundation for a quiet luxury space. These home furnishings and decor compliment each other whilst setting the tone of luxury in a home. Another way to further elevate that space is by introducing artwork that is made up of similar tones and colours. We think this set of bronze petals would pair perfectly with warm greige, beautiful beiges and elegant neutrals.
