So here is the result of the Big Order.
Thank you Coffee House for your amazing order.
In early Summer I was approached by a local chap about making some mugs and saucers for a boutique coffee shop.
We met, chatted, and I really liked both him and his idea.
Two weeks later the design was confirmed, price agreed and all the necessary calculations to get the right fl oz sizes spot on were done. Clay shrinks so all the sizing of how big to throw each piece qnd what the end volumes would be had to worked through very carefully. A few samples were made as the right clay and glaze was sourced.
Yet again Muddy Fingers Pottery ltd helped with the stamp. (They are star players for many things, stamp making included - I wouldn’t go anywhere else.)
I needed a few new items of equipment too.
And then I got making and making and making and making.
The little coffee shop is actually part of the very impressive chain of coffee shops in the North West. They have around 47 now I think. I won’t be making for all of them but you might yet find copies in the other shops in the months to come. That’s for another story.
Mine are for the Didsbury Coffee House which will be opening very shortly.
Here’s a photo of a set of all four sizes of cup and two sizes of saucer sitting in my kitchen. I sent this snap to so they could see the what the finished group would look like. 💚
