About MWM!
Since I was as young as I can remember, I have loved making things. I used to tie shoe laces together just to have something to do with my hands. My mother, tired of untying things, caught on and taught me how to knit....then sew....then stamp and stencil....and my world had been expanding ever since!
Never one to settle on any one project for too long, my crafting collection has grown and grown as I bounce from interest to interest. My love of String Art began with a simple project for a friend who was in need of a pick-me-up. I made a very small, simple outline of Oregon with a heart in our hometown, strung it with kite string, and stamped "Home" on it. She LOVED it and told me I simply MUST make these for other people. I was signed up to sell other fabric crafts I had made at a craft fair, so I figured, why not!? I made 9 string art boards. I sold 18.
And thus, MadeWithMerritt was born!
Now in the beginning of my fourth year, I have taken my shop internationally! I’m currently creating out of the UK, as well as the US, and will be trying to make it to as many maker fairs as possible. Thank you so much for your support of my little shop and my need to create. It has been a pleasure sending art out into the world!
