Old and new meet in a stylish farmhouse refurbishment.

We installed a hand scraped, smoked and stained herringbone to this lovely restoration project. The client chose a characterful board with a warm finish but added modern touches to the design by using an oversized board and a brass in lay that pops against the smoked timbers.

A beautiful floor that is perfect for a high traffic kitchen environment, being scraped and brushed means wear and tear will only add to the distressed feel already in the finish.

A recent double smoked herringbone installation in a new build in Cultra.

The dark grainy texture of the smoked oak floors worked so well against the white finishes of the rest of the areas.

The large Georgian style windows poured natural light in making sure the deep tones of the floor didn’t darken the room too much.

Some before and after pics of a community hall floor that we just refurbished.

Decades of wear, tear and discolouration were all stripped back. The raw wood was then polished through various sandpaper grits and buffed to a polish with mesh pads. The floor was primed and given one application of lacquer. We then reapplied the sports lines as per client design. The whole floor was then topped with another two applications of a sports/commercial lacquer.

Ready for anything.

A recent installation that tested all the skills of a wood floor fitter and finisher. An unfinished merbau woodblock laid in herringbone style with a stunning border detail.

The client decided upon a single strip border with 6mm brass each side, finished to the wall with a soldier baton border. All of which was mitred jointed follow the many ins and outs of the room design.

Sanded and finished on site with primers and lacquers, the result is an individual and timeless parquet floor for a lifetime.
