The weekend saw Team Skyline take part in the fabulous The Yomp Mountain Challenge, held in Kirkby Stephen. 🏔️ 🏃‍♀️ 🙌

The Yomp is a brilliant local event, comprising of a number of different running / hiking challenges over different lengths and routes, taking competitors out into the beautiful eastern Cumbrian fells and Yorkshire Dales. The event also raises money for local causes.

Yolanda and Leo smashed the 10km route on Saturday, whilst Martin tackled the gruelling 65km ‘ultra’ - a rather grand day out.

We’re thrilled to take part and support such a fantastic event, and take our hats off to all the legends that make it happen. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! 😃 🏁

Green with envy!

We absolutely love this recently renovated study room which we finished off with our premium hardwood solid panel shutters, for a classic look. We included a single, flush ring pull to open up the panels for a minimalistic, clean finish. Combined with stunning furniture by Thwaite Holme, this stylish room oozes quality everywhere you look.

Shutters on French and patio doors - they really do make a statement. 🌟

Fitted last week in Barney for lovely returning customers Mark and Alison, these hardwood shutters make this kitchen / diner pop! Initially concerned about how they would open and take up space within the room we went for the bi-fold option, with the versatility of just opening one pair to access the opening door. Absolutely delighted with the decision, both Mark and Alison were super impressed with how they fit perfectly within the room as well as the beautiful finish.

Special shaped shutters - we love them!

Why? Because they can be made to fill those awkwardly shaped windows that look amazing but are hard to dress, and let all the light through. We tend to find customers with card or fabric temporarily filling these types of windows - like this one. Shutters installed and light control is here! Rooms also look stunning with an elegant upgrade that will last for years.

Shut the barn door!

We’re absolutely passionate about all shutters and love the process, from design to installation. However, every so often, something comes along that you know is going to become something truly special, which is exactly the case here with this barn door that has been converted to a window. We have been working with our customers to provide exactly what they want to achieve with this window, both functionality and aesthetically. The design and measuring has needed to be incredibly precise, exactly what we love doing.

We can’t wait to complete this installation now - it promises to be stunning!

Fresh, clean and modern.

Two hardwood shutters installed to this living room in Durham last week. Featuring a hidden louvre split at half height, our customers can choose the exact amount of light and privacy they want at any point. And just as importantly, the dog can’t find his way through like he did with the old flimsy blind slats. Nope, as well as oozing sophistication, our shutters are solid and robust. Sorry about that pooches! 🐶

12 months ago we installed shutters on a bay window, for customers Helen and Ian in Kendal. They got in touch again recently, as they wanted us to complete matching shutters for the tall dining room window that overlooks the rear of their home.

In ‘sea mist’ grey, with 63mm louvres, the room looks stylish and complete. One of the important requirements for our customers was the need for privacy and added security the shutters offer. With a higher mid-rail and hidden louvre split, they have both of these in abundance!

Much of our work comes through recommendations, word of mouth and repeat customers, who spread the word about our passion for what we do and our meticulous attention to detail. We’re incredibly proud of this and are extremely grateful to all our wonderful customers who choose us for their shutters. ♥️

An incredibly smart installation this week for Mark and Laura in Startforth, Barnard Castle. We fitted our Boston range hardwood shutters to the windows at the front of the house.

Utilising mid-rails and louvre splits, all three different windows now have the benefit of much improved privacy and light control by enabling the louvres to be opened separately in two sets, top and bottom. An added benefit many of our customers also find, it prevents their enthusiastic pets from looking out and ‘saying hello’ to passers by! 🐕

We recently completed these two installations in the Carnforth and Bolton-le-Sands areas.

Both customers took advantage of the ever-popular louvre split within their shutter panels to give that extra flexibility with privacy. White, bright and clean lines. Rooms opened up and feeling far more spacious without curtains. Oh and we had lots of extra scribing practise with these jobs - it’s all about the detail!
