The Appleby Hub

Today we remember a lovely and loyal Hub friend Janet ❤️
Always cheerful and kind, she was so proud of her family and our thoughts are with them today and in the days to come ###

Yesterday’s Thoughtful Tuesday was the creative, chatty cafe with an optional walk with our friends from Carlisle Eden Mind - Amy chose the activity which was dream catchers.
Another Amy, Health & Wellbeing Coach from Westmorland and Furness Council popped in as did George who is going to be running our choir. This will be funded as part of our Connecting Appleby Programme funded by the The National Lottery Community Fund - it will take place weekly on a Friday starting next week at The Supper Room 1-2pm at the end of Renew Wellbeing.

While some were out walking George and four ladies sang - I think this is going to be something special- see comments to hear the clip.

We love our little shop - especially when you pop in and leave with something you didn’t know you needed until now 😉

Fabulous needlefelted heron by the fabulous Archie's Attic’ Belinda ♥️

Thanks to J&C Crafts Chris for a lovely morning bending metal! Our Men’s Cafe chatted over drinks, had a go at creating and enjoyed a light lunch.

These Tuesday sessions are kindly fully funded by The National Lottery Community Fund - the next men’s session we are sausage making! See comments for details of all Tuesday sessions.

Thanks to everyone who came today, including all the groups and organisations that made it happen.

25 of you experienced the Virtual Dementia Tour - if you share how that felt with at least 3 other people - that will be 100 people more aware of what it feels like to walk in their shoes - who knew that when eating a red plate is best!

Men! Don’t forget it’s your cafe this Thoughtful Tuesday 10-2pm!
