A wonderful rare antique pictorial advertising showcard for Powell's Biscuits of Preston! Circa 1900s

It features a stunning colourful image of two men on a makeshift wooden raft attempting to retrieve a box of Powell's fig roll and cream cracker biscuits from the choppy waters after they were shipwrecked.

There is also a signature in the bottom left corner for renowned British marine artist, Charles John (CJ) De Lacy. It must have cost a company like Powell's quite alot at the time to commission him for the imagery. The bottom right bears a makers mark for Mardons Ltd Bristol and London, too.

A very clever, attractive piece of early advertising!

A superb very rare antique Edwardian Fry's Chocolate glass advertising countertop change tray! Circa 1900s

This quality survivor is in very nice overall condition for its age and is the first i have seen. It is advertising the iconic new at the time Fry's five boys as well as their pure concentrated cocoa and would've sat on a shop counter for customers to put their change.

Unusually, instead of King Edward, it references the late Queen Victoria who passed a year before the introduction of the first Fry's 5 boys milk chocolate bar in 1902. Perhaps this was one of the last tributes to her in advertising before Fry's solely mentioned the King alongside their Royal Warrant.

An incredible surviving example that you hardly ever see!

It is in near mint condition for its age with super gloss and is of a nice small size for display, too.

A wonderful scarce antique RSPCA enamel advertising sign! Circa 1910s

The sign features three lovely animal pictorials that contrast nicely against the glossy red background.

One of the nicest examples ive seen. A super looking enamel and of a great subject matter, too!

A scarce antique double-sided enamel advertising sign from a Pier/Fairground Gesyurwate scales machine! Circa 1910/20s

The sign features an attractive colourway and font, with the London address and early 4 digit telephone number visible across the bottom on each side.

A very nice, quirky little enamel!

A lovely rare vintage Marmite embossed advertising showcard! Circa 1930s

I have not seen this example before, much like the landscape Marmite card I acquired a while back. Both are in the exact same style except this variant is in a different colour and is advertising the prices per jar rather than what dishes Marmite is best used in.

A super looking shop display from this ever popular brand!

A stunning rare vintage Seiko 7006-7220 MOP automatic watch from 1976!

This scarce model features an incredible Mother of Pearl dial which changes depending on the light and angle. The colours often remind me of an opal gemstone and even the Northern lights at certain points.

Yet another example of just how brilliant and innovative vintage Seiko dials could be in the 1970s!

A fantastic scarce vintage 1D Penny in slot turnstile entrance sign! Circa 1930s

Made of a heavy cast metal, this example would've been mounted at the entrance to a public attraction such as a seaside pier, fairground or even football match.

Such a great looking sign, with characterful traces of patina throughout!

A superb, extremely rare antique advertising pictorial showcard for Goddard & Sons of Windsor! Circa 1890-1900

Likely a unique survivor, this outstanding showcard is advertising Goddard & Sons' high class To***co and Ci**rs through a very lively and vibrant period scene. It has a makers mark at the bottom for R.O. Hearson of Billiter Street, London who were prominent Lithographers and Printers in the late 19th century.

The card itself is in excellent condition for its age and features an array of wonderful imagery with my personal favourite 'mini-scene' being the gentleman falling off his penny farthing after tripping over a little dog. It also mentions their 'Windsor Castle Brand' Cigar both on the building and the box that the lady is holding which must of been one of Goddards' bestselling products. The Castle itself can be seen within the pub sign too.

An exceptional piece of early advertising with such lovely detail!

A very rare antique edwardian pictorial tin advertising sign for the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company Ltd! Circa 1905-1910

The Bristol Tramways Company was founded in 1875 by Sir George white and merged with the Bristol Cab Company in 1887 to form the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company Ltd. The trams stopped running in 1941 after severe damage was caused by a Luftwaffe air raid during the Bristol Blitz.

This tin sign is the first i have seen from this well known company and while it has clearly seen better days, it still lives to tell the tale. It features a central image of a Blue Motor Cab (introduced in the early 1900s) outside one of their order offices, almost identical to the ones seen in the period black and white photos.

A fantastic motoring survivor, and a brilliant piece of Bristol history!
