You can now drop off to county carpets as well

Some of us in the community are collecting treats for Spelthorne Beat (Surrey Police) (Surrey Police) , South East Coast ambulance service (local) and Surrey fire and rescue service (Spelthorne) for staff working over Christmas missing their families and keeping us all safe. We are hoping to give them the treat hampers next weekend.
Emily Hills and I have come up with a list and Theres a list of drop off points at the end of this post.
I'm also trying to find a local business to be a drop off point.
Last day of collecting is 22nd December so we can deliver the 23rd

The list we have come up with so far.
Panettone
Tins / boxes of chocolates
Cakes
Biscuits
Hot chocolate cones
Mince pies
Christmas Crackers
Non Alcoholic drinks
Snacks I.E large and multipack crisps, Twigglets, cheddars, pringles
Chocolate selection boxes
Tinned or dried fruit
Toiletries something like lynx or dove sets

This was the response received from Surrey Trading Standards when I asked them why Carpetright were allowed to open when we had to close.

Please contact them to complain. Why should large retailers bend the rules when small independent shops are foreced to close.

I understand that you have concerns that two named suppliers of floor coverings are currently operating during these strange times. I understand that you consider that these are outside the current legal restrictions.

I am sure that you will appreciate that I cannot comment on any contact with a third party that we or any other local authority may have had with a specific trader.

With regards to your own business, I don’t know if you are aware of the current government guidance to what can and can’t open. There is also legislation that backs this guidance up. I have added a link to the guidance here. If you consider that your business is one of those that can remain open under that guidance, then you may be able to open.

In the event that we receive information that you were to be open, and we considered that you should not be, we would contact you to establish on what basis that you were open. We have a number of options with regards to achieving compliance (ensuring no breach of legislation). Issuing a fine is one of those, albeit one that we don’t use lightly. A fine would not normally be our first action, rather than offering advice.

Carpetright are now trying to stop the petition against them. Please sign and share. They are not providing building supplies. They are bending the rules to suit their needs.

Could all of our customers please support us in signing this petition.
We have been forced to close whilst Carpetright are remaining open by bending the rules.

Stop Carpetright flouting lockdown rules.. 101 signatures are still needed!

The shop is ready for our reopening tomorrow at 9am.

We will only be allowing 2 customers in at time and all customers will be asked to use hand sanitiser before browsing our products.

We would ask that customers observe the 2 metre social distancing rules at all times.
